Julia Harley is the founder and owner of Whaling City Tattoo Co., bringing a lifelong passion for art and a deep connection to New Bedford to every piece she creates. Born and raised in the city, Julia grew up surrounded by the rich maritime history and Portuguese heritage that define the South Coast.

Her journey into tattooing began with a love of illustration and a fascination with the bold, graphic styles of traditional and neo-traditional work. Over the years, she's developed a distinctive approach that combines classic tattoo aesthetics with contemporary influences, from medieval imagery and heraldry to the whimsical world of Studio Ghibli and anime.
